This project was done for our Capstone course. The challenge was to create a fun, coworking, office space for the Mosaic Center, a place for guidance and career services for those in the community interested in Healthcare. We broke the task up into three parts to show demonstrate the design process. We presented a programming phase, schematic/conceptual phase, and a final design development package. The space features flexible architectural elements and furniture arrangements. Multi-purpose rooms provide the flexibility needed for everyday operations and are technologically advanced. A screen outside the rooms will display if it is booked or free and the space can be reserved from an app on your phone! The goal was to create a space that people feel comfortable and secure in. Multiple acoustic measures are implemented to combat the openness of the glass walls and lack of confined rooms. The center is designed around human well-being, so maximum sunlight is utilized from the curtain walls. Along with live walls, mobile air purification units, and circadian rhythm lighting systems are implemented to create the most healthy work environment.
